Veteran playmaker Matt Giteau has joined the Wallabies in camp in Sydney.

Giteau plays for French club Toulon, whose owner has talked about docking his wages if he joined the Wallabies in the lead up to their first Rugby Championship Test against world champions New Zealand at Sydney's ANZ Stadium on August 20.

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika now has all 36 of his train-on squad in Sydney, following the arrival of the Brumbies contingent, who were given last week off, following their franchise's elimination from the Super Rugby tournament in the quarter-finals.
