Matt Giteau's international rugby career is seemingly over, with scans revealing the 103-Test warrior has a broken ankle.

Giteau lasted just 10 minutes of Australia's 42-8 loss to the All Blacks on Saturday night and will play no further part in the Wallabies' Rugby Championship or Bledisloe Cup campaign.

Australia's midfield depth is being sorely tested with Rob Horne (shoulder) also ruled out for the rest of the tournament.
